When I was younger Summer was a wondrous time of adventures, smiles and popsicles. Now I just don’t know. Firstly I live in the desert so it’s just THE hottest, I try to take a break from work in the Summer as much as possible. But they never seem to amount to anything.

You see all of these people taking vacations and having family reunions-weddings and you just feel left out. Sure it’s funny to relate to the memes but I really don’t have any plans. I’ve still just been working. But there is a silver lining.
I made a new friend who has been encouraging me to do things with him. He’s a singer and he sings at Open Mic every week plus one of his friends has a show on Fridays. Also I am now going to his church. PLUS he loves to go to the pool so I don’t have to go alone. He has made my life so possibly interesting that I kind of don’t want to do anything sometimes.
I guess the moral of the story is get out there and get some friends. That’s really good advice I’ve stumbled upon. Go out on social media and connect. Connecting with others and maintaining relationships is healthy for you. My summer has been going pretty well because I have friends. Make the best of it!
That feeling that I had when I was younger is gone. But something that happened this summer that is wondrous and I am proud of happened. I released a mixtape. The first real songs I’ve ever completed.
When you’re 20something it’s stressful. Everyone knows it’s true. You’re adjusting to the crushing weight of the world but still wanna have fun. Your career is just being set, you’re looking for love. My advice would be use those social channels to find people to hang out with. People want to be your friend. Make time for fun.
Bless.
